Credit
What is our biggest problem with a credit card? That's easy, it's overspending, of course! It seems that many of us just cannot seem to catch on to the fact that we will have to pay all that back and if we do not, then our credit will have hell to pay. With more people in this country in some kind of debt than there are those who are not, there are a lot of credit reports out there that could definitely use a face-lift.
Don't let it happen to you
One thing that we are not told enough growing up is that when we do get credit cards, that we should be extremely careful or we will end up in debt that can take years to pay off. Anyway, it probably would not have helped out any, what with kids always seeming to need to learn things the hard way. The point is that to use credit wisely, we have to spend less than what we earn - meaning ditching the credit cards and focusing only on the income we actually bring in. Yes, less, and in this case less is not more, it is less. In order to do that we have to learn to live within a budget and that means sitting down and actually figuring out how much it is that you can spend each month without ending up flat broke at the end of it all.
But, just because you have made a few bad choices in the past that you will have to pay for now, does not mean that you have to deal with bad credit forever. You do not have to be a slave to your debts! You can break free and stop the vicious cycle yourself! There are many programs available to us all now that give us the opportunity to both pay off the debt in far less time than we might have imagined, and work to improve our overall credit rating.
